Using scheduler for monthly totals

Dear COGNOS users,

I have a report which I run on the first day of each month to get the totals number of work done the previous month. Is there a way how I can use schduler or any other option in COGNOS 7 to automate this process. Remember that start and end date must change each time the query runs. If the query is running on the 01/09 the date range for the query should be 01/08 to 31/08.

it has been a few years but i think i can point you in the right direction since i used this kind of filters in the past.

in impromptu you can make a ?prompt? definition.

it should create something like this:

currentmonth() -1
