I have been tasked with investigating and validating that IE8 is compatable with Cognos 8.3.x. We are currently on IE6, but global users can now download IE8.
Are there any known Issues?
Should we be putting IE8 on our Cognos Servers as well?
Is there any docs from IBM / Cognos on this???

the reason why you did not find anything about 8.3 BI and IE 8, is because it is not supported, in 8.4 BI it is supported.
Cognos 8 BI is zero foorprint meaning you do not need active x controls or plugins to run or create reports.
Will IE 8 work…? probably it will work but if there is a problem, support like to recreate the problem with IE 6 or IE 7
