Cognos Controller 8.5.1
Symptom:
You have reinstalled Cognos Controller on the Application server and are going to update the Cognos Controller database to latest version.
Select the database in Cognos Controller Configuration program.
You get an Error when click on the green arrow in Cognos Controller Configuration.
Error message:
File name or class name not found during Automation Operation
Cause:
Inside the Database Conversion Utility under the DmConv tab the filename and path to the udl file for the controller datamart is incorrect.
This udl file does not exist in the \program files\cognos\c8\dmdata folder.
Solution:
Change the data filename to an existing udl file in the DMdata folder.
Recommended to select the default.udl file.
Ensure that the controller_datamart database in the SQL server is used in the \dmdata\default.udl file.
Run also the steps to upgrade the controller datamart database to version 43.
Note:
These settings are stored in the Windows Registry for each user on the Application server.
