Email CSV file but not set to Excel output

Hi all,

I need to email a report in Cognos 8.4 in csv-file format.
The file in email puts filename.csv but in email puts Excel symbol and opens in Excel.

Any idea how to solve this?

i think this is because of the file extention association of the computer you are opening the email with.
Every windows machine has a possibility to assign a default program to a file extention. csv is default assigned to excel if this is installed on a computer.

Are you missing the old style “File Types” dialog that used to let you set this stuff? In Windows 7 (and Vista), you’d have to set it manually in the registry. But there’s a small program that brings back your familiar functionality. I haven’t used it myself, but it looks to be pretty awesome. Here’s the link: http://types.sourceforge.net/
