Hi While starting the cognos Dispatcher service, i am getting the following error in cognos 10.1.1.

I am using the same dispatcher password in all the installation locations.

what is this error?? after showing this error the service are up and running and i am able to run the reports…

Disable DEP and that error will go away.

Right click “My computer” click Properties>Advanced Tab>Settings button under “Performance”, then click the “Data Execution Prevention”. Make sure it is set to “windows programs and services only”.

Reboot.

I am using Linux environment and could you please give the steps in Linux…

and is this error having any adverse effect while using the cognos ???..

I think the steps you have given is just for disabling the error code…

If this is on linux then you can probably ignore this error. Once it has completed its start routine, did you check that the Cognos portal is up and running?

The cognos service is up and running , but i need to know before going to production, is this cause any issues in future??

Nah. You can ignore that error. IBM Cognos devs were supposed to fix this “bug” in 10.1.1. I guess it didn’t make the cut.

i had the same error in Cognos 8.3

I was fixed in 8.4 and 10.1 and now it is back??? :-\
