Problem
The following error is received when starting the IBM Cognos 8 services:
CM-SYS-5007 Content Manager build 8.4.6013.0 failed to start! Review the Content Manager log files and then contact your system administrator or customer support. Cause: com/ibm/db2/jcc/DB2Driver (Unsupported major.minor version 50.0) Runtime Exception stack trace:
java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: com/ibm/db2/jcc/DB2Driver (Unsupported major.minor version 50.0)
Symptom
IBM Cognos is unable to initialize the DB2 content store database.
Cause
This can be caused by the DB2 license (db2jcc_license_cu.jar) being expired.
Environment
DB2 Content Store using Type 2 connection.
Solution
Ensure that the DB2 license file is up to date and is valid and start again
