CAM-CRP-1132 An error occurred while attempting to request a certificate

Symptom

  1. [ ERROR ] CAM-CRP-1132 An error occurred while attempting to request a certificate from the Certificate Authority service. Unable to connect to the Certificate Authority service. Ensure that the Content Manager computer is configured and the ReportNet services on it are currently running. The HTTP result code ‘400’ was returned from the server.

Problem
While saving the Cognos configuration on a gateway installation, a CAM-CRP-1132 error is received. The Content Manager service indicates that it is starting, however the ‘Details’ button is inactive, and it is not possible to start Cognos Connection succesfully.

Cause
Some files & folders are missing from the WEB-INF folder on the Content Manager instance.

Solution
Back-up the configuration & custom content, and perform an uninstall/reinstall of the product in order to restore the files, or restore them from a known-good backup.

Symptom
[ERROR] CAM-CRP-1132 An error occurred while attempting to request certificate from the Certificate Authority. Unable to connect to the Certificate Authority service. Ensure that the Content Manager computer is configured and that the Cognos 8 services on it are currently running. Reason: javax.net.ssl. SSLHandshakeException: Received fatal alert: handshake_failure

Problem
This field is displayed on the search results webpage seen by customers, and effects search ranking and relevance. Receive error when trying to save Framework Manager Configuration.

Cause
Gateway URI in FM configuration was set to an Alias

Solution
Use the Gateway URI information from the Cognos Configuration on the server.
Steps:

  1. Open Cognos Configuration from Cognos Server
  2. Cut Gateway URI information
  3. Open Cognos Configuration from FM install
  4. Paste this Gateway URI information from the Server.
