Gateway can not find dispatcher in a distributed installation
Symptom
In the Cogserver.log, you see the errors below:
CAM-CRP-1091 Unable to request the common symmetric key from the remote content store
DPR-GTY-5000 Communication failed while attempting to forward the request to the dispatcher. Ensure that Cognos 8 is running.
CAM-CRP-1110 Unable to save the contents of the keystore to '\servername\cognos\c8\configuration\csk\jCSKKeystore'
Problem
When starting Cognos in a distributed installation environment, the above errors occurs.
Cause
Incorrect file permissions in Cognos installation directories
Solution
Check the machine where this error occurs.
Start Cognos Configuration - Security - Cryptography - Common symmetric key store location
There are 2 options now:
- Change the current value for Common symmetric key store location to a path on the local machine, or
- Change the current value for Common symmetric key store location to a location where the Cognos Service has write permissions.
